Enrich the Peer Learning Network

Students use all kinds of services online: blogs, Delicious, Youtube, Flickr, Twitter, etc. Simply by allowing students to attach these services to the Red Rover directory, students can now share text, video, pictures, and short messages with other students in their groups, major, year, or residence hall. You already have a few prolific publishers of great academic content, the Red Rover directory simply gives them a local stage.

Keep Alumni Engaged

A truism in business: “Ask for money, and you’ll get advice. Ask for advice, and you’ll get money.” What if, instead of asking your alumni for money, you asked them for the content they create - blogs, twitter, Linkedin, etc. so that the school could share it with first year students who would like to learn directly from the alumni? With Red Rover, this is easy. Alumni can sign up for the directory and attach their content. Current students can easily search by interest or career and learn directly from the source.

Authentic Content

Students have come to expect real content produced by peers. When they go to the typical .edu website, the professionally produced, slick marketing material can be a turn off. By aggregating feeds of student produced content, Red Rover allows schools to filter out work to be showcased on the official school website. Now, instead of paying and managing student bloggers, schools can showcase the best work being done by students across the campus.
